Authorisation

In July 2019, Ministers Colbeck and Hunt requested Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) prepare a report on the safety of:

FSANZ provided the report in August 2019 which made recommendations to increase the safety of these products. This included that guidance be developed for enforcement agencies on the regulation of products containing pure or high levels of caffeine.

Status

This activity will continue after FSANZ Proposal P1056 – Caffeine Review is completed. It will also consider the impact of work under Proposal P1010 Formulated Supplementary Sports Foods
